XTERRA Beaver Creek in its inaugural year promises to showcase the very best of off-road racing in the Rockies. Multi-sport and adventure racing legend, Mike Kloser, and reigning US XTERRA Champion, Josiah Middaugh, will design a challenging course that will also serve as a tune-up for the Mountain Championship the following weekend.
A $10,000 prize purse and amateur age-group prizes will draw rookies, experienced XTERRA athletes and a pro field from around the world.Race next to some of the top athletes in the sport of off-road racing as they gear up at altitude.
Course Details:
A 2 lap, 1 mile swim in Avon’s Nottingham Lake will kick off the point-to-point event.
Wetsuits required. Swimming in the lake prior to the race is prohibited!
T1 will send racers out on the pavement and provide a chance to get the legs cranking for the off-road uphill climb along the trails of Bachelor Gulch, Arrowhead and Beaver Creek. Pre-ride all you want, there’s no private land here. Rolling, smooth singletrack brings riders into T2 at the base of the Centennial lift in Beaver Creek.
Runners hit the trails for a 8k through aspen glades and along singletrack, returning to the base of Beaver Creek Village for the after party!
